Pass Over – Resurrection Sunday

Writing by Chad on Saturday, 3 of April , 2010 at 10:02 pm

Of late I’ve been studying the season we are in, more now than ever. I’ve always believed in Passover as the proper way to celebrate the Lord’s Supper. Not necessarily a heaven or hell kinda thing. Yet, there are aspects to this season that do trouble me.

This is what the Apostle Paul said about the Lord’s Supper

I speak as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say. The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread. Consider the people of Israel: are not those who eat the sacrifices participants in the altar? What do I imply then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?

No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. Shall we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?”

~ Paul 1 Corinthians 10:15-22 [ESV]

Easter, in case you haven’t figured out what I’m trying to say, is a pagan holiday. The name Easter is derived from a goddess of fertility or a sex goddess. Boy in this day and time we live where sex has saturated every aspect of life then why not saturated the church too?

Pardon my scathing attitude toward this distraction on the Resurrection of Jesus Christ but enough is just about enough! It is time to destroy those things that detract and restore those things that bring us closer to Jesus!

No doubt someone will ask if the bunny has brought enough candy or if my kids got to see the bunny or how many eggs the found, it never fails. No doubt I’ll have someone ask us to come to their place and hunt eggs with my kids but no, it is my choice and I chose another route – this route hasn’t brought revival… I think if I invite them to prayer meeting they would probably chose to do something else than to seek God. I may be wrong, I pray so anyway.

Be Blessed!

2010 Winds of Refreshing

Writing by Chad on Wednesday, 24 of March , 2010 at 7:09 am

It has been a most blessed time with Pastor Mark Hall from Kentucky. God moved in such a powerful way each night! Thursday night we saw God ignite the fire and begin to refresh people of God.

Friday night we had approximately 70 people packed in our little church. We had 3 churches representing.

Saturday night was the most powerful time, God moved and performed many things in our church. We were so blessed that He would take his time to visit a people like us.

Sunday my Lexie(6) stood and spoke during testimony service and she said, “I want the Holy Ghost. I have been praying in the bed and asking God for it and I really want the Holy Ghost.” I was standing looking down at her and watched as her eyes welled up with tears and she bowed her head. I asked the church to gather around her and pray. We did and she wept in the presence of God. It impacted me in a profound way! Her simple hunger does not regard me or anyone else. Her hunger and faith brought a definite presence of God that manifested itself in a special way.

Now you may be wondering what it is that I am speaking of, the Holy Ghost? Paul asked the disciples of John if they had received the Holy Ghost since they believed and the replied they didn’t know whether there be any such thing. The portion of scripture I am referring to is Acts 19:2. Some may say that they received the Holy Ghost when they believed and “accepted Jesus in their heart” or when they were baptized but scripture does not support such a premise. My child is hungry for God, not just an emotional God but the being who goes beyond emotion and feeling to the very depths of the soul. Oh I can’t wait till she receives the baptism of the Holy Ghost! That will be a glad day!
