Nightly Report

Writing by Chad on Saturday, 31 of December , 2005 at 3:46 pm

The other night I came home and my two year old was being rocked to sleep by Mommy. When I walked in her soft sleepy voice said, “Hey daddy.” Followed by, “I want daddy to rock me to sleep.” Two year olds are as predictable as Tennessee weather. So, before the soft sleepy voice became impatient, I unloaded my things where I stood. She was already moving to get up to, “hold me” as she often calls it. Once the transfer from Mommy to Daddy was complete and her lil body lay snuggled in my arms she began her Nightly Report. She told me about all the trouble she got in by using her pullup as a potty and the crumbs she spit behind the recliner. She told me about how Mommy was upset. She covered it all. She even hit highlights of a few months back. The kid has a memory that won’t quit. It is so precious to watch her face get the thinking look and her eyes glance off to the sky just before she says somthing witty. Yes, witty. I can tell now that she will be creative in her conversation. I just hope creative doesn’t mean lying. Unfortunately last night I was at work and couldn’t get the Nightly Report. I should set up a webcam and have it stream on my site so I can watch the report from work. : ) That sounds like a good plan but I doubt my wife will go for setting up my Ubuntu box in the living room because I have no home office now since the move. If my pursuasive powers of communicating the need for a streaming Nightly Report on my site then you too will see how cute she is, when telling off on herself.

Calvary Through the Eyes of Angels

Writing by Chad on Friday, 30 of December , 2005 at 8:33 pm

I write today (to kick off my blog for the second time in as many years) about my faith. During this past week I preached at my church. I am entering a stage in life where I am realizing more each day at how precious a Salvation Jesus Christ provided. The title was “Calvary Thru the Eyes of Angels” and becuase it was laid on my heart the day I preached, the thought wasn’t fully developed. I prefer a few days to develope a thought. This was directed by the Spirit of God.

Angels where with Jesus from the very beggining. They watched him and over him as he grew. No doubt they were probably anxious of each person that touched him. Angels can’t be regenerated. Once they make the choice to follow the fallen one their fate is sealed. We, as animated dirt, are much different because God looks at us and wants to help us in our devastation. In 1 Peter 1:12 (kjv)

“Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.”

It appears the angels desire to experience what we experience when we receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:39). You see when the angels watched over him the were given charge to help him at any time he dashed his foot on a stone Psa 91:12 and Mat 4:6. Can you imagine their anger when humanity rejected the Messiah(Is 9:6)? I plan on developing this thought a little further but for now I will leave it at that.
